Leonora “Lee” Donovan, 79, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 11, 2022. She was the wife of the late John Donovan. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Aldina (Mello) Pita. Lee was a credit analyst for the former Fram Corporation for many years before retiring.


She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Burtan and her husband Rupert, her grandchildren, Donovan Burtan and Madison Burtan. She also leaves her brother, John Pita and his wife Carol. She was the mother of the late Gary Donovan and sister of the late Joseph Mello, Barney Pita, Manuel Pita, and Gloria Andrade.


Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 16th at 10 AM in Saint Teresa Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.


In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pawtucket Animal Shelter, in memory of Lee, would be greatly appreciated.

You were such a special person and i will always remember you in my mind and in my heart. I will never forget the beautiful letter you sent me when i was in Edgehill. I also remember a funny store you told me about something that happened when i was an infant just a few weeks old. I pray you are up in heaven with God and those you love who are already their.
