Leora Peterson Obituary

Leora Gladys Peterson

Our precious mother, Leora Gladys Peterson, was born September 17, 1919 in Lyons, Nebraska to Charles and Gladys Drummond. She made her heavenly journey to join Dad in heaven in the early hours of November 11, 2012, Sunday, the day of rest. Mom and Dad were married January 6, 1939, celebrating 73 years of marriage prior to his passing on January 15, 2012.
Mom leaves surviving children and their families, Joan Hilling (Bob), Janet Elmore (Michael), Edward Peterson and Christina, Lorraine Lundberg (Ernie). She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Jane of Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Kay Martin; and granddaughter, Jessica Otto.
Mom was a 35 year member of First Covenant Church in Everett, and devoted her life to God, her family and all those that knew her. We were so blessed.
We thank you Windsor Square Retirement Center and the residents there for the love and support given our parents and all of our family. To the loving caregivers from Hospice, we wish to convey the love and respect we feel for you in caring so lovingly for Dad and Mom this year. You are our angels.
Please join us in celebrating our Mother on November 19, 2012 at First Covenant Church in Everett, 4502 Rucker Avenue, at 11 a.m. Viewing will take place at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 18.
Mama, we knew we couldn't keep you. Your heart was broken when Dad passed away. We rejoice in your heavenly reunion, and are at peace that you are together again. Your family loved you and cherished you, and most of all thank you for being our mother and grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Memorials can be made to First Covenant Church or Hospice of Snohomish County. If you wish to send flowers, pink roses only, mama loved them.

Mom, words cannot express how much you were loved and how much we will miss you. We are thankful for the time we had together, for the memories we shared. It is so comforting to know that you are now at peace, no more worries, and celebrating in Heaven with Dad, who you missed so much. We were so blessed to have a loving Mother, who cared for us, encouraged us and prayed for us. Thank you Mom!
