Not sure what to say?

Lee was the most thoughtful person I have ever worked for. He took the time to invite me over to the annual Tempe Engineering staff Christmas party (which he had at his home) prior to my becoming an "official" Tempe employee. When I finally started that following January, I found a department that was way ahead of most cities in strength of staff, policies, technology and comraderie. It was, to a huge degree, because of Lee's leadership. I am very thankful that I was able to work with him...

To Leroy's family: I was one of Leroy's classmates at Mound. You should know that your dad was "tops' in our class and a good friend. We are not surprised that he achieved so much and was so well respected. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you.

Gary and Joan Carlson

I send my condolences to Thad,Tara,Theron and Travis and their families . Leroy was a very strong and loyal man , I'm sure
there will be a deep void in your
family. You are in my thoughts
and prayers.

Leroy (as we called him) was in my high school class (Class of 1960, Mound, Minnesota). Even then, he had a depth of character that made him immune to the peer pressure and values that ruled so many of us, but he never acted as though he were above us. I'll always remember him as a solid, warm, caring person. He'll be missed by his classmates, and I send my condolences to his family.

Lee will always be up at the top of my list of my favorite people that I worked with at the City of Tempe. He had a kindness that you could depend on. His vast knowledge and caring made him a pleasure to work with. He was also very dedicated to his church, so I know that he is probably checking the drainage systems on streets of gold right now! My thoughts and prayers are with Lee's family, he will be missed.

As you already know, your dad was a wonderful man with a heart of gold...he will truly be missed. You are all in our thoughts and prayers...

To Lee's family - Your Dad was one of the finest people on this planet. Kind, gentle, and caring he was personified what it means to be a "family man" for his beloved wife and you, his children. We who worked with him at the City of Tempe were all blessed to have known him. Please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of all his many friends.

My condolences to the family. Lee was such a great gentleman. It was said so very well in the obituary as written.
I visited with him often over a span of years. I admired his ability to build, his calm demeanor and his sense of values.
I tried to keep tabs on him for awhile but lost contact when I moved out of the valley.

We are sorry to hear of Lee's passing and offer our prayers for all the family and friends who will miss Lee greatly. We offer our condolences for brother Marv and his family in Cedar Rapids IA.
