Not sure what to say?

From a graduate of the class of 1987-Looked him up tonight to see what happened to him. I still quote my mentor. I seriously considered a career in pathology due to this man. But have been in primary care/internal medicine for over 30 years now. Will never forget this man and his influence on my education and perspective on life and death.

Rest in peace my friend, colleague and superb mentor .

A great teacher. In 1962-63, I was a Pingry School 7th grader, one of the students in Civilization, which Mr. Riddick taught. He really brought the material alive, in part with his understated humor. It's the best course I ever experienced, at any level.

Dr Riddick was a courteous gentleman.I enjoyed working for them as a housekeeper in the 80's.I'm sorry for the family's loss.

Oh my gosh! I just found out about this, Carol I'm sorry for your loss. Roy was a fabulous mentor in my formative forensic pathology years. No doubt he was instrumental in shaping me and what I've been able to accomplish over my ensuing career. I will forever cherish the time I spent in Mobile with him!

Dr Roy was a pioneer in bringing Forensic Medicine to Death Investigation in Alabama!
An excellent teacher and friend he will be missed.
Our best to Carol and his family!

This obituary is one of the most beautiful I've ever read, and you described
Dr. Riddick exactly the way he was. He was guest speaker for our monthly Press Club of Mobile meeting. He was interesting, accessible, soft-spoken. As you can imagine, because of his work, the subject matter wasn't one to
make you smile, but he provided excellent information. As the meeting was over, and he putting his jacket on, I told him I was from Memphis, too.
Where had he gone to high school?...

Mrs. Riddick and family I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Riddick was like a father to me. He and Mrs. Riddick were always checking on me and my son, Edward. I could tell him anything and he listened. Dr. Riddick was so very kind and he cared about people (all people). I really miss him. Again, to Mrs. Riddick and the family I am so sorry for your loss, because it is my loss too.

Carol, I send you grace and courage in this difficult time. Love to you be and Daniel and all.
Fondly, Mary Finger
