LeRoy Joseph Spaniol

I just discovered that LeRoy passed. I wish his wife and daughters and families peace and joy. I knew LeRoy in my role as board member of IAPSRS and knew him to be brilliant, generous and valued leader.

I'm deeply saddened to learn of LeRoy's passing. He changed my life putting and making recovery possible in my life by extending an invitation to attend his recovery course at Boston University. I presented him with a 300 page rough draft of my memoir. He told me it was, "important." With that, I had published Sweet Freedom, Mending a Heart Broken by Mental Illness. I did not know LeRoy that well. But any time we had a chance to see each other and chat for a bit, it was easy to tell that he was a man full of dignity. Always had compassion for others. A very intelligent man , that will truly be missed by many people.

I was married to allan. We were married for 15 yrs then got divorced so the time we were married Leroy was a joy to know you could talk to him with ease and he would make you laugh I am proud to have met and known him
