To the family of Lesbia. Even in 2023 I have fond memories of working with Lesbia in environmental health. We work with hundreds of people or more in our lifetimes and special people are deeply remembered. Why? Lesbia Fernandez and I became friends as freshmen at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine, and we did our internship and residency together as well. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to all. Lesbia fought this terrible disease with courage, determination and amazing fortitude. All of you supported and gave her so much strength and love until she was ready to leave these earthly bonds.
