KEEFER, Lesley W. - Of West Branch, MI, formerly of Davison, age 92, died Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at West Branch Villa.


Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,


Pastor Doug Kennedy officiating.


Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.


Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice in Ogemaw County, Michigan.


Visitation 3-8pm Friday at the funeral home.


Lesley was born in Flint on March 27, 1927, the son of the late Ulas and Martha (Grovenburg) Keefer. Lesley served in the United States Navy during World War II. On February 7, 1948, he married Florence Tucker. Lesley was employed with Buick for 25 years and was a member of Judson Baptist Church.


Surviving are wife, Florence;


Daughter, Susan Keefer;


Son, Alan (JoAnne);


7 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren;


And many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and a twin brother.

I was saddened to see this. We first met Mr. Keefer at the Victorian Fair at Irons Park in West Branch. I made a point to find his booth every year to buy wooden carved shoes, slippers and boots from him. I have a large collection of shoes as well as a carved hummingbird he created. I cherish every one of his carvings. His use of detail including laces as well as hand drawn stitches are amazing.
