Leslie L. Buzzard, 88, of Columbia, NJ, passed away Thursday, February 5th, at Palmerton Hospital, Palmerton, PA. Leslie was born in Myers Crossing, PA on September 6, 1926, the son of the late William H. and Ruth E. (Hess) Buzzard. He was the husband of Mary E. (Witzel) Buzzard. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this past June. He was employed as a carpenter at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ, until retiring in 1985. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and wood working. He was a former member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mt. Bethel, PA. He was a member and former Asst. fire chief for Knowlton Twp. Vol. Fire Co., and a member of Knowlton American Legion. In addition to his wife Mary, Leslie is survived by 6 children, Leslie W.C. Buzzard, Robert G. Buzzard, Sherry Laclair, Donna Ross, Kenneth E. Buzzard, and Timothy L. Buzzard; a sister, Phyllis Bush; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Earl, and Glenwood Buzzard. Services will be held at the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA, at Noon on Wednesday, February 11th. Friends are invited to call from 11 AM - Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be held at East Bangor Cemetery, East Bangor, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Rd, Easton, PA 18042 or National Wildlife Federation, 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA 20190.
