Training in the Dr. L.Diaz's Laboratory at the Northwestern University, August 2005

Dear Diaz family,
Please accept my deepest condolences, Leslie was the great person, outstanding doctor and famous Scientist. I met him in Northwestern University in August 2005 when I was the Fulbrighter at the Michigan State University. He taught me the new diagnostic methods for breast cancer.
Peace of his soul and may God bless his daughter and wife.

To the Diaz family, I went to medical school with Leslie. I remember him as an individual with great character, integrity and hard work which clearly is reflected by the great work he has done in research. I am truly sadden by such a great loss to your family, the medical community and to us his classmates. We will miss him. Mahmoud Barrie (Atlanta, Ga)

I just found out in the Northwestern Alumni Magazine that Leslie has left this world early this March. I'll miss you, dear friend Leslie.

Les and I were classmates at Chamberlain and USF medical school. I have fond memories of him and his tremendous work ethic. My deepest sympathies to your family.

I am sadden by this news regarding Leslie, I was out of country in March. Last time he called me was 2006 and he did not mentioned any thing regarding cancer, the only thing I remembered that he wanted to move back to FL or Tampa. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I will miss Leslie as a good friend and excellent honest intelligent human being. May his soul rest in peace.

Dear Diaz family,

I was shocked to learn of the passing of Les... he was one of my classmates at the USF College of Medicine.

We will miss him... please accept my deepest condolences, and may God bless all of you.

My first memories of Les are from the back of the line in elementary school. They always lined us up by height, and Les and I were the shortest. We went to school together from then on, finishing up at Chamberlain. I have only fond memories of him.

I'm sorry that I only learned after his death about the work he had been doing. My mother was a breast cancer sufferer 15 years ago. My dad's sister is being treated for it now. I'm grateful for Les's research regarding this...

Dear Diaz Family,
Although it has been years since we've spoken, I have many fond memories of my great friendship with Les, and years of playing with him in your home, wrestling with him, going to school with him, and becoming a young man right along side him. Although I am truly saddened by his loss, he certainly seems to have left a positive mark on the world. I wish you and Les's wife and daughter love and strength, and offer my deepest condolences.

To the Diaz Family,
It has been many years since I have seen Les. I have kept up with his success in life through friends; his passion and dedication never ceased to amaze me. Although it has been years, my fondest memories from junior high school and high school will always include Les. He was a kind, intelligent, caring, and gentle soul and I feel blessed to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you struggle to make sense of his passing. May your love and...
