Heikkila, Leslie E. Les Sat., March 18, 2017 . Les was born in Wright, MN to Walter and Margaret Heikkila, August 24, 1936. He is survived by his wife Linda Heikkila (nee Engle), his daughter, Debbie Heikkila of Morgan Hill, CA and his grandson Kyle Heikkila of St. Louis; stepfather of Jennifer (Suvir) Dhar, Jarrett (Khara) Surtin and their children, Logan, Luke, Lyla Surtin and Sebastian Dhar all of St. Louis. Les was preceded in death by his first wife Judy Heikkila and son David Heikkila; Les was a long time member of the St. Louis Business Aviation Community and he was retired Vice President of Emerson Flight Operations. As his grandson Kyle said, A man passionate about his hobbies, he loved his golf and enjoyed flying and maintaining his fleet of warbirds. He will be greatly missed. Services: Celebration of Life Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Spirit Airport 18444 Edison Ave. Chesterfield, Mo. 63005. I had the pleasure of meeting Les with the Stearman group at Creve Couer airport. I admired his spirit and love for aviation. So glad I got to meet him. May he enjoy his new wings in heaven.
