Not sure what to say?

Hecprovided council & shelter to students in need. When, the wrestlers were over weight he led them on an uphill run around Milwaukie.

He was a great coach and friend!... he was there when I won the State Championship in 1971

RIP coach !!

Les was my coach in football and wrestling from 1964 to 1967. Somehow he convinced me to turn out for wrestling my junior year even though I had no formal experience. I believe, looking back, that in those 2 years of wrestling I experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in my athletic career. Wrestling can be very humbling but I always felt coaches acceptance. Les felt that wrestling would benefit me for my better sport of football which it did . I trust Les received my note,...

God speed coach

So sorry for your loss....Les was one of my favorites...great mentor to me as a student and later as a teacher at MHS...many great memories on the football sidelines, the wrestling mat and the golf course...you will be missed

Mr Pierce was a tough nut from a tough generation. He had a way of letting you know if he thought you could´ve been better in that last match. He also had a sense of humor. Around the time of "The Longest Yard" a wrestler was injured and Pierce turns around and says," I think he broke his freakin´ neck." I remember a few other notable things he said, but shouldn´t be included here. He was a big influence on my life, and will be missed. Condolences to his girls and the rest of his family.

I taught and coached with Les for 8 years at Milwaukie High. Best 8 years of my working life. Had many great victories together and many laughs. Wonderful coach and mentor to many. Les will be missed by all who knew him. Thinking of his 3 fabulous daughters at this time in mourning. RIP dear friend.

My heart is with you Pierce girls... So hard to say goodbye. Hugs from my mom (Rojean) and Me.
