Lester "Les" de Asis

Les, I just got the news today. RIP

Les and I became friends in high school band. We kept in touch periodically over the years. I used to go to Oregon State Alumni Band performances, staying with him on my return trip, once just to watch a sunrise over Mt. Hood and catch the Green Flash. I'll miss him, too. Rest in peace, my friend.

My friendship with Les began in 1973, when we were both assigned to the same dormitory at USC. We ultimately developed a close friendship, and the following year, shared an apartment in Mar Vista, though I later moved back to Chicago to complete my BA. Although I had not been in touch with Les for many years, I am very saddened to learn of his passing. I have so many special memories of the year we roomed together. My deepest condolences to Les's family.

I had the pleasure of working at Benchmade for about 7 years. Les was intentional about creating a company culture where people are proud to come to work. Working here made a lasting impression on me. I'm shocked and saddened to hear this news. I will always remember you Les and thank your for creating an awesome place to work. God bless you Roberta, Melissa, John and family.

Les was a kind and thoughtful person that made a tremendous impact on my life. He and his family were supportive of our family through our challenging times, and helped us celebrate our better times. We are better people for having Les in our lives. He will be greatly missed.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Les. He was a great guy and long time client and friend. I always enjoyed the times I spent with him and appreciated the support he gave me. We have lost a true gentleman.

We are both thankful to Les. He had a job offer for Del when it was needed the most. Del worked with him in several capacities over 16 years. Les is often in our thoughts and will now be in our prayers. Del and Kathy Blanchard
