BECKER RITTER ELMBROOK FUNERAL HOME Obituary

Born to Eternal Life on Saturday, July 19th, 2014. Beloved husband of Mary ?Marge? Didier (nee Wilson) for 61 years. Loving Dad of Steve (Julie), Jim (Tayna), Leslie, Mary Beth (Jim) Murray, Sally, Chris (Lori), and John. Proud Grandpa of Jason, Andy, Will, Cody, Katie, Dan, Mary, Kevin, Shannon, Tim, Grace, Lauren, Sarah, Joe, Tom, Jack, Teddy, Mike, Anne, Emily and Ben. Great Grandpa of Jamie, Molly, Harper, Max and Amelia. Dear brother of Jane Ellen (Bill) Potts of Dayton, OH. Predeceased by granddaughter, Claire, daughter-in-law, Paula and many good buddies. Further survived by nieces, nephews and treasured friends.

Les was a talented commercial artist and partnered with the late Phil Picard at their successful studio, Picard/Didier, from 1962 to 1987. His passion was painting wildlife, in particular, birds. His paintings have been displayed at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Birds in Art show and are held in private and public collections. Many of his works were produced in limited edition prints. His paintings were recognized for the WI Duck Stamp in 1995, 1998 and 2001.

Les was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a sportsman, nature-lover and Packer/Badger/Western Illinois football fan. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He lived his life on earth to the fullest.

Special thanks to the caring staff at Froedtert Hospital & Medical College of Wisconsin and Zilber Family Hospice.

Visitation will be Monday, July 28th at 10:00 AM until the time of Memorial Mass, celebrating Les? life, at 11:30 at St. Jude the Apostle Parish.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Les? name to St. Jude the Apostle Parish, Medical College of Wisconsin or the Friends of Peninsula State Park.

Not sure what to say?

I didn't know Mr. Didier personally, but I have a signed print of "On Silent Wings" in my living room. It was my first of many bald eagles. Thank you Mr. Didier for your incredibly talented work.
