Not sure what to say?

He was, as has already been stated before me, a great man. He was my coach, my teacher, and a role model for all. Few days have passed since I graduated HCBA that I had not thought of him.
Requiem em Pace Coach.

I am sorry to hear of Lesters passing..I have often thought of Lester through the years..He was a special person & one of my all time favorite teachers..I use to look forward to his class & hear his funny stories..I will never forget some of those stories he told!..A friend of mine brought Lester some home made butter to school one day..I teased Mr McCarter about it & told him that he was trying to butter him up!..He was much more than just a teacher,he was a good friend..Its a honor to say...

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Beloved McCarter Family:
We all deaf graduates of HCBA always loved talking about Coach McCarter. Also, deaf football players appreciated very much of his faith in us playing well with hearing. We are blessed having him as coach and teacher. Our prayers be with you all, Roy Blaylock 75'

My Dad was my hero and my role model. He showed me honor, integrity, and a sense of humor just by the daily life he lived before me. I love him and I will greatly miss him. God bless you all for your kind words.

It has been almost 60 years ago when Mr. McCarter came to Chilhowee Elementary-I was in the 6th grade. He coached us in softball and basketball. He told us he had graduated from LMU. "Stood for-- Lunitics Made Useful" he said. We knew he was joking of course but we loved being around him for his humor and quick smile.
He moved across the street to HCBA in 1955 when I was a Freshman and for 3 great years he was my coach-mentor-friend and teacher.
I thought he was more tough on me...

While I did not have the pleasure of knowing Lester for very long, I have been made familiar with the kind of man he obviously was. I know he influenced so many people through various ways. Whether it was as a coach, churchman, or husband and father, he made a significant impact on others. I remember well his service at Valley Grove Baptist Church and we will miss him tremendously. Please know that we will be praying for you in the coming days. May God bless you.

I am so sorry to hear of Coaches passing he was a wonderful man and touched the lives of so many many young people.
My prayers are with you at this time

My brother, Benny Householder, graduating class of 1957, played football under Coach McCarter four years and admired him so much. I also adored both Coach and Mrs. McCarter. My name is Martha Householder Stout, graduating class of 1959. I always thought they were one handsome couple.
