Dr. Lester M. Wolfson

Dr. Wolfson was the heart and soul of IUSB. When there were only two buildings and a true campus was only a dream, he believed and committed himself to every student and faculty member. IUSB is what it is today because of the firm foundation Les Wolfson built. I am proud to have known him and to have been able to shake his hand as I crossed the stage.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences upon learning of Lester's passing. I have known him since my earliest years, and I have many wonderful memories of his and Esther's times with my mom and dad and the original gang at IU in Gary during its formative years. He was one of my dad's most treasured friends. I can still see them at our family table engaged in lively conversation. I will be forever grateful for his unsolicited, cheerful help to me as a young surgeon starting out and looking for...

He was a great man. I only knew him briefly in the last few weeks but was my great pleasure to get to know him and take care of him. My thoughts are with his family.
