Not sure what to say?

In 1973 I worked at Consumers Power Company (now Consumers Energy) with a group of men, one of whom was John Skeen. That summer our group went on a canoe trip to northern Michigan. The men´s wives accompanied them, including John´s wife Letitia. This picture was taken on that trip, and John and Letitia are the couple on the far right side of the picture. Everyone is wearing a serious expression because of the sign and what it symbolized. Marlene Zwitter

My condolences to the family. Sra. Skeen touched so many lives with her positive and caring role as a teacher. I´m grateful I had the chance to know her when I was her student teacher in Spanish classes at Columbia Central.

May I offer my condolences to the Skeen family. Mrs. Skeen was a wonderful teacher and I remember her fondly. She was always so kind and caring. Northwest was lucky to have such a positive uplifting teacher. There are those very few teachers whom stick in your mind and Mrs. Skeen was one of those for me. Prayers to the Family, May you find comfort in this difficult time. May the Angels welcome her to Heaven.

Señorita Skeen was my Spanish teacher at Columbia Central. I remember her zest for life and incredible positivity. She sang the Chiquita Banana song as we started a test. She has been on my mind for the last year as I started to learn Spanish again. She is a teacher I remember fondly. My love and prayers to those who love her. Adiós hasta que nos veamos de nuevo.

Please accept my condolences for your loss. Mrs. Skeen was a long term substitute teacher for a few of my classes at Northwest High School. She was very sweet, kind and full of wisdom. She had to have quite a bit of patience dealing with us teenagers. It sounds like she lived a long, full life making a difference in many lives, including my own. God Bless, Brenda (Gurr) Walton
