You know I just Googled you today out of curiosity. You were a great teacher, and when speaking of such things I am left with a feeling of deep gratitude for the time and patience that goes into being an educator. You were very special to me sir. You made me laugh, and taught me that it´s okay to fail at things if you keep trying. I believe it was the Tuba then you told me that even if I wanted to give up on it for lack of ability, I was very good at carrying it and that it was heavy and for a child it was quite a feat. Made me feel good, I appreciated both the sentiment, and the humor of it. Made me proud to do it. So thank you Mr. Rauser. I´d hoped to drop you a line and thank you, but I believe this to be similar-the important thing is that you know I am very grateful for teachers like you. As you are gone please know that I appreciated it, and hold you in high esteem. You were a great teacher. Rest In Peace sir.

I worked with LeVayne at Rosedale school since 1972. He loved teaching music and I am sure made a great impression on his students. Such a great guy! I know he loved his children so much and was proud of them. Sorry to his family for this tragedy!

It has been a long time coming, but the kids finally joined in marriage to make us all one big happy family. It is so sad that we didn't have many more years to enjoy the family gatherings. Jan Woodruff

Sorry to hear that Kern County has lost another of its music pioneers. HS bands and their directors are usually more in the spotlight but the work done by hard working, dedicated elementary/junior high music teachers like LeVayne Rauser should never be forgotten!

As a student at Rosedale School from kindergarten through eight grade, I have many fond memories of Mr. Rauser. I can remember walking into the auditorium for music and the music books we learned from. The flutophones we all had lessons in. He must have had a lot of patience! He even drove the bus a time or two. Thank you Mr Rauser for being a part of my life and instilling in me a love of music!

I have known Levayne and Marilyn Rauser for 35 years. I enjoyed the wonderful rides we took together and many evenings of laughter. As a motorcycle store owner, Levayne would drop buy often to say hello or have his motorcycle serviced. A wonderful sense of humor and an incredible love of motorcycles (and music teaching) is just a part of the LEGACY of this wonderful man. I am saddened by his loss but smile knowing I'll see him again in heaven.......Pat Ryan, WE LOVE MOTORCYCLES, formerly Ryan Kawasaki.....

I was in the 2nd grade when Mr. Rauser came to Rosedale School. The songs I learned in classroom music and choir are still in my head and continue to be some of my favorites. He taught me to sing harmony which I still enjoy. My condolences to the family as your memories run far deeper than mine. He will surely be missed.

I'm sorry to hear that Mr. Rauser passed away this week. He was a joyful and dedicated teacher. I always enjoyed being in his class playing clarinet in 4th-8th grade at Rosedale Middle School. I think it was called Rosedale Union while I was there. I learned a lot from him and I will never forget his enthusiasm. :) He will be missed!

To Maryln and all the Rauser family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Rauser, as he liked to be known, always had a warm handshake and something funny to say when we'd get together for rides with the BSR. He and I had similar riding styles, fast enough to enjoy the wind in the face and slow enough to be safe. you could usually find us in the back of the pack enjoying the scenery and stopping often to enjoy everyones company. Rauser could be counted on to stop what he was doing to help when a friend needed it. I will miss him, but will remember him always.

Wow, What can I say Rauser was a great guy and a wonderful neighbor for over 14yrs... I raised all three of my children right on Arthur Ave cul-de-sac. I think my kids drove him crazy over hitting the garage door with baseball, soccer balls, rocks!!! He always sat on his front porch in the evening enjoying the neighborhood. He'll be missed at the yearly Toy run to the fair grounds, with Maryln waving to everyone on the corner.. Such a loss to his family, but Im sure leaves wonderful memories to us all who had the pleasure of knowing him!!!
