Not sure what to say?

Lew Sayers was like a big brother/uncle for me. He encouraged me on my textbook writing, and we played half-court basketball on the weekends. Lew had already written a textbook. He could be regarded as a boss--kinda sorta.

Fitting tribute to one among the most positive & influential people in my life. Shared too many basketball games, meaningful conversations, and hearty laughs to count. I miss you dearly, Lew.

It feels incredibly sad to me that Lew Sayers is no longer in this world cultivating and multiplying goodness as he did so well, patiently encouraging and edifying others, making all of us better for having known him. I take heart that he lived his life fully right to the very end, not wasting a moment with sickness of mind or body. How glad I am for his sake about that! Dearest Professor Sayers you had a great influence on my life and am very thankful to have known you.

Professor Sayers I just want to say I am very grateful to had you as a teacher I learn so much from you. There are only a few professors that really worry about their students....and now we have one more less. You will be really missed.

Lew Sayers, Russell Thyfault, and Lynne Thyfault after fishing.

Uncle Lew was not only my uncle but he was also my friend. He was like a second dad to me as well. For my 39 years of life he was always there for me. Wether it was fishing, bowling, movies, Maverick or Ranger games, playing basketball and tennis, or just a phone call to see how I was doing. He taught me so much and I will always be grateful. He left us too soon and it hasnt even hit home yet. I love you Uncle Lew and you will always be with me.

Love,
Russell

My heart is saddened with the loss of a very good friend in Lew. I knew Lew for many years in one of his passions Fly Fishing. Another passion we shared was Crossword Puzzles, both of which we were blessed to share every year. Lew was a confidant, kind, caring, gentle friend. Lew was complementary and respectful, always, whether he agreed or disagreed with your point of view or perspective. Lew made all those around him a better person by making them feel important, loved and respected. ...
