Feb 26, 1931 – Oct 15, 2011 (Age 80)
Lewis E Bishop, 80, of Galion, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 at home after an extended illness. Born Feb. 26, 1931 in Vernon Junction, he was the son of the late Oliver E. and Eva May (Gantzler) Bishop. He married Martha (Henry) Bishop on Feb. 26, 1955 and she survives. He served with the United States Marines during the Korean War. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Galion, the American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 in Galion and enjoyed fishing. Lewis formerly owned Bishop's Color TV for 42 years, drove school bus for 26 years for Ontario Schools and previously worked for Hartwell TV in Galion. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Rhonda Bishop of Clarksville, GA.and Ronald Bishop and Kim Fleming of Galion; four grandchildren, two brothers, Bob and Ann Bishop of Galion and Frank and Lou Bishop of West Point and one sister, Janice Bishop of Florida. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Bishop, three brothers and one sister. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 with Pastor Don Trigg officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with military graveside honors being conducted by the United States Marines and the Galion/Crestline area veteran's organizations.
