Lewis Carlson was an amazing teacher. He taught me to think deeply about all manner of subjects. After he retired we kept in contact. In the summer months he lived in Michigan and we often met for lunch in the resort town of Pentwater. Lew was a mentor to me. I was fortunate to be a student in his classroom.

Les was my professor, and so much more. He inspired me read more and think deeply. For several years after retirement I met Lew in Pentwater and Ludington Michigan when vacationing there. He taught me to think deeply, and read, read and read more. He was an instructor.
