Not sure what to say?

Got to know him a little when I was working at a restaurant over by Ansley Park. Great story teller and humorist. He would sometimes come back into the kitchen on a Sunday when we had the Falcons football game on the radio. I became a fan of his columns and books. Years later when my dad died I was driving home from the funeral in Tennessee listening to Lewis’s audiobook of “My Dad was a pistol and I’m a son of a gun” I cried for 200 miles.

I used to read his columns while working as a banker in Hillsboro, Texas. I enjoyed them so very much! Then, I just lost track of him and now I know why...his death in 1994. What prompted this message is that I found one of his books yesterday in a thrift store here in Cedar Park, Texas...Chili Dawgs Always Bark at Night. It has stirred my memories. I plan to read it to wife Karen in the evenings as a part of our nightly devotionals...obviously a lighter side of our devotionals! My most...

Been gone from us a long time (physically), but mentally a mentor like you is never really gone ...and you were right LG, good dawgs don't love bad people. You're still with me. A mentor and precious person--still with me.. KB (Karen in Florida)

He was the only reason I bought the Atlanta paper for years. He was also one of the most gifted writers ever. I think of him often. Rest in peace my friend A.C. Nunn

Single Memorial Tree

I was lucky enough to see Lewis in person in Columbus Ga. Me and Donald Scroggins ...... a great American.

After all these years I´m still thinking of Lewis and missing him. What great stories he could write about these days. I´m still reading his books over and over.

Lewis was a friend that I never got to meet. He helped me through so much, and he never even knew it.

Love me some Lewis!
Just like Lewis I am an American by birth and a Southerner by the grace of God!
