Lewis Hoffacker

I will always and forever miss dearest Lewis...He truly was ..."a man for all seasons..." and the greatest gentleman I have ever had the pleasure and good fortune to know.

The passing of Lew was a sad occasion for me. Lew and I were Foreign Service associates for many years. After the Foreign Service we served as international affairs advisors for major corporations in Houston. Lew and I both moved to Austin, Texas after retiring and we enjoyed attending lectures and functions together at the U. of Texas. Lew was a special friend whose wit and intellect and warm company will be greatly missed.

My life has been greatly enriched by knowing Lew. I miss going to lunch and learning from him. Rebekah, I loved spending time with your Dad, and my heart goes out to you and your sister.

I have seldom met a gentleman as gracious as Lew. My sincere condolences to his family.

I worked with Lew at Shell years ago, and always found him to be a most gracious, clever and interesting man. What a fascinating life he led! My deepest sympathy to his daughters and family -- losing a loved one is the hardest thing on earth.

The world has lost one of its greatest people. Having been blessed to be a friend of Lew's for many years, I know there never was and never will be another person like him....he was warm, kind, old-world-manners, loving, thoughtful, considerate and impeccably polite. My heart is broken to think that he's gone. Blessings to his family and his daughters, whom he loved so much. My life was far better for having known him and being a friend of his.
