Not sure what to say?

I'm grateful for the honor of having known whom I know as Uncle Buddy. He referred to my family and I as as Special Cousins, and I know he meant that in only the most endearing way. He will always be remembered as an embodiment of integrity, service, honor, and kindness.

Bud and I were classmates (VPI `64) and friends in the Corps of Cadets. We were initiated together into the Pershing Rifles Drill Team in 1961. I remember him as a natural leader who was humble and purposeful. Our senior year he was Executive Officer of the Corps and I was Commander of the Regimental Band. Those were good years, and I cherish the memories I have of Bud. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family. Bud was my most distinguished classmate.

I remember his when he was Captain Jeffries, TAC Officer at VMI. He was a fine officer and an excellent example to cadets. Greg speaker, VMI '76

I will miss this good man and soldier, this loving husband and father. Bud gave much of his life to this country and in recent decades to the Radford Community.

Bud was a great and humble man. May God ease his family's pain. I miss that I will not see him again. Ron Davis N&W Historical Society
