Not sure what to say?

Reverend McPherren married us August 5, 1967 in Pond Creek, OK even though he was no longer at our church. It meant so very much to us both and we had 54 years of marriage. He was such a special man and was very influential on my formative years. My condolences to the family. The world lost a very special man.

I'm so sorry to hear of Lewis's passing and that I couldn't be at the memorial service today. He was one of the greatest men I have ever known. I am so grateful that I got to know and work with him at First Christian in Hampton. He was so very helpful to me when my father died. I will always remember his quiet strength and integrity.

Dale & Tommy Gay Evans

Thank you for marrying this young couple at Central Christian Church, Arkansas Ciy, KS. It lasted 53 years.

I remember well our days together working in the Christian Church of Virginia. Your professionalism and leadership and integrity were helpful to all us who worked with you as fellow ministers. Well done and may the peace of God be with your family.

I am so sad to hear of Dr. McPherren's death. He administered my ordination vows at FCC, Pulaski, VA, on June 5, 1983. He was always supportive and helpful, and I valued his friendship. Thank you, Lewis, for helping a young pastor get started on the right foot!!

Sincerest condolences from the Middle Peninsula Detachment # 1317 Marine Corps League. Lewis will be missed.

We have such fond memories of you serving as our interim in Salina, KS and conducting Mom's funeral service in Galva, Ks.

Sue @Leonard Williams (Hull, GA)

I remember Lewis with great fondness and appreciation for his insight while he served as interim pastor in Larned, KS.

Condolences from the Phillips University Alumni Association
