Lew Merrill had such a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He kept me giggling and guffawing most of the time. When I lost my driver's license in 2007, Lew would pick me up at my home in the Santa Cruz mountains for the Rotary meeting and down Highway 17 we would fly, Lew with his hands on the steering wheel, me with my hands on my rosary. This charming gentle man with the twinkle in his eye will be sorely missed by me and all his fellow Rotarians.
