Not sure what to say?

Semper Fidelis Col Poggeymeyer, I worked for your son, finest commanding officer, then was a Major of RS Seattle Wa

I worked for Colonel Poggemeyer as a young Lieutenant and I remember him well. He was always a gentleman and treated junior officers with tolerance and respect. I remember his even temper and reasoned approach to problems. Sorry for your loss.

Pete, Rick, Peggi & John,
Condolences on the passing of your father. I remember so many great times when our families would be stationed together. Your father was truly remarkable in all the projects he would tackle. We still have his hooked rug with the Marine Corps symbol.
Much love,
Sue Schick Martin

It was on the Vestry at Grace Episcopal Church where I spotted a lefty that would befriend the young and growing Gibbons Family.

Lew was a great man who was often seen completing his POD (plan of the Day???) driving his Buick Roadmaster Wagon. His vanity plate in Utah was B Y O B.

Lew and Aurlene graciously invited my young kids swimming and encouraged me to try "North County" when planning family vacations. It's now our favorite spot in the world.

Rick and Pete, Please accept our condolences. You are in our thoughts and prayers. My Dad served in 29 Palms with your Dad. My brother, Ray, my husband, Jim and I went to school with you. Our father always spoke highly of your Dad and we enjoyed our friendship with you. Our father passed away over 20 years ago,and we lost our mother just this past April. She was one month short of her 92nd birthday. The pain will pass, but the awesome memories will always last. Blessings to all your family.

Please accept our sincere sympathy. My Dad, Col Mark P. Fennessy USMC (RET) thought the world of Big Lew. Col. Wesly Noren USMC RET) knew Lew very well. He sends his sympathy.

Regards,

Jack Fennessy

Peggi,
Wow, what a handsome man your Dad was.
Thinking of you!
Lots of Love
Rosie,Jack & Frankie

May God bless the Poggemeyer family.

Rick and Mary:
I share in your loss. My mother was 93 when she passed away also in the month of October.
Take care, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
