Not sure what to say?

My sincere sympathies to family and friends of Jake,
I am sorry that I was not able to attend services as I was home with a sick child. Jake was a long-time customer at the pharmacy where I work and he became a special friend to me. I always called him "My Buddy Jake" and he would grin and smile with his kind blue eyes.
I was very honored when he invited me to his birthday party one year so I could hear him play his fiddle. He once showed me an old photo of his band when he was about...

Gary, So sorry I couldn't be with you at the passing of your father. As things happen I was helping my husband wiht the passing of his mother and funeral on Wed. We will be going through some of the same things and emotions and taking care of business. You have my sympathies. Jenny Tarrant (Rex&Lucille's) daughter.

Gary we are sorry for the lost of your dad and our very good friend and a playing buddy of mine for a lot of years.
Sincerely,
Homer and Maggie Hicks

We will all miss you Uncle Jake. You were a great inspiration in many lives. Our sincerest sympathy to the rest of our family, so sorry we could'nt be there for you.

Uncle Jake we have the most fond memories of you. You were always welcoming and easy to talk to. You took such good care of Aunt Sadie for such a long time while she was so ill. You never abandoned her or your family and extended family. Surely you are in the presence of God. We should all be so blessed in having a long life and so many friends who will miss us as much as we will miss you. You were so loved and will always be in our hearts, until we can meet again.
Love you.

I don't have the words to express how sorry I am for our loss. Part of me wishes he never had to leave us, but the other part knows that if anyone deserves to be with God it's Uncle Jake. In all my forty years I never heard him raise his voice to anyone. He was honest, straight forward, wise and modest. He was always there to lend a hand or just give you a big ol' smile when you walked up to his door. I guess that's what I'll remember and miss the most about my Uncle Jake, his smile. No...

I have some wonderful memories of my friend, Jake. I first met him in the mid 90's when his good friend Eldon Carter invited me to join with them to play music at several nursing homes. It was a great delight to join with Jake, Eldon, Bunn, Homer, Jim, and several others. I had the privilege of playing music with them on many occasions and was given such a wonderful sense of honor because they made me feel so welcome. I learned so much and miss the great times we had.

Jake was loved...
