Russon Brothers Mortuary - Bountiful Obituary

Lex Steele -- loving brother, devoted husband, and true friend -- passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2013.
Born in Salt Lake City on July 26, 1970, Lex was the second son of Lindsay Steele and Lois Marchant Steele. From a young age, his caring and pleasant nature was apparent to all.
In high school Lex found his passion: the computer. He studied this area intently. He also joined the Utah National Guard and played drum in the Delta High Band, graduating in 1989.
Lex served an LDS mission in Baton Rouge. His heart went out to the people there. Some say he returned from Louisiana with Creole in his veins.
While attending Utah Valley Community College, Lex met Kimberly Fogg, the true love of his life. They married and moved into an apartment so small that a person could hardly turn around. They were happy. The couple moved from Provo to Salt Lake City for his work with computers. Later, they bought a home in Bountiful, where they have since lived.
Lex was like a kid himself with his nieces and nephews. He was vibrant and playful in their presence - wrestling, video games, fireworks, puzzles and more. With grownups he was a fierce competitor in card games and board games. He played to win - and he usually did.
Lex's friends and relatives will deeply miss his infectious laugh, comforting hug, loving smile, and unending compassion for others.
He is survived by his wife Kimberly Fogg Steele of Bountiful; father Linsday Steele of Delta; brother Luke (Elizabeth) of Taylorsville; brother Lance (Moni) of Stansbury Park; sister Leilani Jones (Trent) of San Tan Valley, Arizona; and brother Lee (Carla) of Mesa, Arizona. Lex is preceded in death by his mother Lois.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 11am at the LDS Chapel on 585 E. Center Street, Bountiful. Viewings on Friday from 6pm to 8pm at Russon Brothers (295 N. Main St., Bountiful) and on Saturday from 9:30am to 10:45am at the LDS Chapel. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Loving Memory of Lex Steele -- http://pledgie.com/campaigns/19067

Not sure what to say?

The best possible Godfather we could have ever chosen for Deacon. It doesn't seem real, but we know that you are happy with your Mom. We miss you something fierce. Be sure you visit when you can, and let Kim know you are watching over her from up there while we watch over her from down here.

Lex, was so fun, and truly loved our kids. I remember when we lived at Mt Vernon apartments and the grass field we would play at with my kids and all the neighbor kids. My kids would go to Lex's apt. and see if he would come and play with them on the lawn. He was trusting and truly loved to play with and make the kids laugh. He was someone we knew we could leave our children with. They never wanted to come home when we would pick them up. Thank you Lex and Kim for being an example of...

I am so sorry to hear about Lex. I served in the Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission the same time he was there. He was an excellent missionary and was so funny. I really liked him and nicknamed him Lex Luthor only because of his name...because he genuinely was a nice young man. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Lex was a wonderful missionary. He was always happy and cheerful. Love to his wife and family. Phillip and Joyce Kunz
