Funeral services for Lila Maxine Haynes Harper, 78, of Coolidge are 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Coolidge Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Mike Keown will officiate and interment will be in Big Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Harper died February 27, 2009 at her residence. Born July 15, 1930 in Appling County Ga, she was the daughter of the late Jessy Haynes and Ivy Jones Haynes. She was married to J.D. Harper who preceded her in death. Mrs. Harper was the owner and operator of Harper's Fruit Stand. Survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Maxie & Bill Arnold of Meigs, son, Gary Harper of Coolidge, daughter, Martha Lou Montgomery of Coolidge, sons & daughters-in-law, Jack & Trudy Harper of Coolidge, Danny & Dean Harper of Coolidge, son, Don Harper of Coolidge, sisters, Jeannette Tippins of Brunswick, Ellen Harris of Ludowici, brother, Coleman Haynes of Baxley, sister, Kay Morris of Baxley, brother, Jesse Pat Haynes of Brunswick, 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by sons John David Harper Jr., Jesse Jay Harper and Jimmy Lynn Harper. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Saturday at the funeral home.
