Lila Heng Obituary
Lila Jean Heng, age 81 of Sioux Falls, SD passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Centerville Care and Rehab in Centerville, SD.
Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Monday, November 25, 2024, at East Side Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD with Pastor Layne Nelson officiating. Private family burial will be at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery near Colton, SD.
There will be a time of visitation, with family present, from 12:00 pm to the time of service at 1:30 pm at the East Side Lutheran Church on Monday.
Lila Jean Heng was born on October 31, 1943, in Colman, SD to Arthur and Dora (Kroger) Rosenwald. She received her education in Colman, SD. In 1964 she married Gordon Johnson and had one child Paula in 1968. On June 25, 1976, she was united in marriage to Larry Heng in Madison, SD. She had her second child James in 1979. Over the years, Larry and Lila managed several restaurants and bars. She worked at Bethany Lutheran Nursing Home as a Restorative Aide for over 20 years. In her many years on this earth she touched so many hearts and lives of those around her. Her smile and kind words in all situations made her priceless to those who knew her.
Lila is survived by her daughter, Paula Brenden of Sioux Falls; and son, James, (Tawna) Heng also of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Cody (Jennalee) Lanoue of Luverne, MN; Courtney (Scott) Walz of Sioux Falls, Brady Heng of Sioux Falls, Galexy Jensen of Arkadelphia, AR, and Jasmine Heng of Sioux Falls; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, David Rosenwald of Hills, MN; sister, Rose Garness of Sioux Falls; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Dora Rosenwald; husband, Larry Heng; sister, Judy (Denny) Hanson.
