As I attended Lila´s service yesterday, I was impressed by the number of old friends that had packed the church. I thought how many decades back some of these relationships went , and I was amazed. Then I remembered my mother telling me that when she was pregnant with me , and was going to Dr. Walter Ruck Sr. For prenatal care, Lila´s mother would often be sitting in the same waiting room , pregnant with Lila. We lost another big star .I Lila was the epitome of class intellectually .She was eager to improve whatever she knew.....she and I spoke French together often,she appreciated music and supported Iris and the Symphony.indeed dinners at her place were always a pleasure for the palate ,the conversation stimulating for the mind.
