I was a member of Amwa in 1983 under Lila Wallis at Cornell medical College in a little room with two other women sitting at a little metal green desk and chair. I spoke to Laila years ago about the importance of environmental illness and sensitivity to Womens Health and it was leaders like her that have motivated me to help women and hopefully doing justice to her memory and legacy.

Dr. Wallis was responsible for getting me out of bed and functioning after a surgeon botched a surgery. Every other physician I went to didn´t know what to do and wanted to cover for the surgeon. It was only Dr. Wallis who put my health first and it was thanks to her that I was able to get out of bed after 4 years. I was able to work and subsequently, returned to school and became a physician assistant. While my health problems never went away, I thank God for Dr. Lila Wallis. She was a...
