CAUDILL, LILLIAN RAGLAND, 89, of Louisville, passed away December 13, 2011.

Lillian was born in Lawrenceburg, KY, with the fortitude and keen intellect characteristic of a Ragland. She loved things that engaged her mind: playing bridge every week for 70 years, designing dive bombers during World War II, obtaining her master's degree in 1973, and world travel. She was devoted to the things that moved her heart: her family, literature, 30 years as an Actors Theatre subscriber, and her beloved UK Wildcats. She had excellent taste in all things and possessed great dignity.

Lillian was a retired librarian, member of Buechel Park Baptist Church, and former President of the Buechel Women's Club.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Caudill; and brother, Charles Ragland.

She is survived by her sons, Gregory Caudill (Dee), and Brian Caudill; daughter, Pamela Caudill; brother, William Ragland (Catherine); grandchildren Laura, Sarah, Amy, Andrew, and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Dillon.

Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 at Buechel Park Baptist Church, 2403 Hikes Lane, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Buechel Park Baptist or Actors Theatre of Louisville.

My condolences, Brian, Pam and the rest of the family. May your mom's memory always be a blessing.

Lillian is a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. I was lucky enough to marry her grandson, Andrew, and join the Caudill family because it gave me the opportunity to meet her and love her as well.
