1926 - 2009
Lillian E. Dickerman, 82, beloved wife of Gerald passed away in Newport on June 23, 2009. She was one of four children born to H. Victor and Helen (Davio) Ellsworth on September 6, 1926 in Newport, VT. Lillian worked for several of the area chain stores when they were still in Newport. Lillian was a member of the Morning Star Rebecca Lodge for several years. Mrs. Dickerman enjoyed playing solitaire, watching her soap operas, cross sticking, bowling and was a very active member of her church and its youth activities programs and the women’s Tuxis Club. Lillian and Gerry enjoyed taking bus tours for several years. She was always ready and willing to give a helping hand whenever she could, including baking home made dishes. Mrs. Dickerman is survived by her husband Gerald, her son Richard and his wife Edna of Indiana, her daughter Vickie and her husband Vanoy Counts of Florida, grandchildren Andrew Dickerman of Indiana, Patricia and her husband Daniel Sommier of Washington, and Robert and his wife Amamda Counts of Texas, great-grandchildren Sarah Sommier of Washington and Nathaniel Counts of Texas, also by several nieces, nephews, and many friends of the Newport Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her brother Glenn and sisters Marguerite Currier and Betty Simpson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport with the Rev. David Lisner officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 AM at the funeral home until the hour of the funeral service. Interment will follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Derby. Should friends desire contributions in her memory may be made to the Newport Baptist Church, East Main Street, Newport, VT 05855. Dear Dickerman family! On behalf of my family and myself, I express deep sympathy and many heartfelt prayers to all of you. We have wonderful, wonderful memories of services and fellowship times in the Baptist Church(es) of Newport, VT. You all are so very dear to us; Lillian will be lovingly remembered always and we CAN take comfort in knowing we will be united one fabulous day in Heaven! ..."What a day of rejoicing it will be!"
