Mattingly Funeral Home - Loretto Obituary

Mary Lillian Osbourne, age 101 of Lebanon, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Lebanon. She was born February 1, 1920 in Manton. She formerly operated “Happy Hollow Antiques”. She formerly worked at Happy Hollow Distillery, Dant Distillery and Handmacher-Vogel Sewing Factory. She was a member of Saint Charles Catholic Church. She loved traveling and once shook the hand of Pope John Paul, II.


She was preceded in death by her husband, James Sidney Osbourne; one son, James Anthony “Tony” Osbourne; her parents, James Arthur and Mary Icie Mattingly Gootee; two brothers, Arthur and James Benedict Gootee.


Survivors include three children, Joe Sidney Osbourne (Gale) of Saint Mary, Theresa Ann Williams (L.T.) of Versailles and Susan Mary Mudd (John) of Lebanon; one daughter-in-law, Judy Osbourne of Loretto; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Monday, April 12, 2021 at Saint Charles Catholic Church, 675 Highway 327, Lebanon. Rev. David W. Naylor will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.


Visitation is 3-8 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm.


Pallbearers are David Gootee, Matt Osbourne, Jesse Osbourne, Jimmy Osbourne, Danny Mudd and Billy Mudd.


Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 60 % occupancy, face coverings are required, and food or drink are prohibited.

Such a wonderful lady. Met her when I was a teenager and she was a 4-H leader and and she taught me to knit. Prayers to her family.

An icon of the community , a long life well lived eagerly . We enjoyed are visits and conversations at her home an antique business in earlier years . Mr.Sydney has been waiting along time for her company RIP .

So sorry for your loss! I liked her so much. She was always very nice to me when I was a little girl Rest In Peace !

She kept going and going. I loved visiting her. She didn't seem that old. Sorry for your loss.
