I had the privilege to meet and become friends with Lillian in 1980, and like so many of her friends, it helps me to note how much we loved one another. David Sullivan reminded me she said she came to 'live out loud,' and she did. Buoyed by the courageous example of her grandmother, immortalized as Grandma Gatewood for hiking the Appalachian Trail alone in the 1950s, Lillian was always a strong individual.

I met Lillian @ Antioch in early 2000s. We were in the same cohort, but placed on different teams. Spending every weekend together for almost two years, I got to know her strong, compassionate spirit. I admired her ability to respect all, to listen well, but to also stand her ground in what she believed in.
Lil bettered my life in many ways but I will forever be grateful for her vouching for my work ethic to her colleague at LexisNexis which ultimately led to him fighting for me...
