Joseph W. "City Joe" Ziegler Jr., 82 of Tampa, Florida, previously of Beaver Falls, passed away December 23, 2015.


Born May 5, 1933, he was the son of the late Joseph W. Sr. and Margaret (Fleming) Ziegler. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5945 in Beaver Falls. He retired from the City of Beaver Falls where he was a supervisor in the Parks and Recreation Dept. He was well known for running the Beaver Falls wave pool for many years. Joseph loved to hunt and fish, and was a diehard Pittsburgh Steeler fan.


He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph W. Ziegler III and Le'Ann, Naples, FL and Richard A. and Marlene Ziegler, Tampa, FL; a granddaughter, Crystal L. Ziegler, Tampa, FL; three grandsons, Jacob K. Ziegler, Ft. Myers, FL; Benjamin A. Ziegler, Naples, FL, and Richard A. (Alejandra) Ziegler, Jr., Odessa, FL; a great-grandson, Roman A. Ziegler, Naples, FL; a great-granddaughter, Isabella S. Ziegler, Odessa, FL; four brothers, Norman R. Ziegler, Greenville, PA; Herbert P. (Kim) Ziegler, Killeen, TX; John A. (Shirley) Ziegler, Beaver, and James A. (Roberta) Ziegler, New Brighton and two sisters, Margaret Ziegler (Ronald) Vankirk, Dayton, OH and Mary Ziegler (Ken) Jeffers, Cincinnati, OH. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.


Friends will be received Wednesday December 30, 2015, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1117 Fifth Ave., Beaver Falls,www.gabauerluttonfuneralhome.com, where a Blessing Service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. Father Bill Schwartz will officiate. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.


Members of the Veterans Honor Guard will meet at the cemetery at 10:30 a.m. to provide full military honors.
