Not sure what to say?

Dear Charles, Richard and Steven,

I extend to you my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother. She was a woman to be reckoned with, and at the same time, quite charming.

I first knew your mother the summer she stayed with her parents while your father was off flying planes. I became her baby sitter for Chuckie, and she took me everywhere with her.

My father died that summer (1954) and your mother and her family were truly kind to me and helped me through that...

Steve, Chuck,

I just wanted to say how sorry I am about your Mom. I wish I knew her years ago, but in the short time that I did know her, I knew she was a special lady who loved her sons. I know you will miss her.

Thank you for your thoughts. It's good to know when someone's teaching effort pays off. I got to meet a few of my father's students but none of my mother's. Glad to hear she had a positive influence.

I am sorry for your loss. Mrs. Bresca was perhaps my most memorable high school teacher.
