Lillie Mae Woodard, 93, a retired beautician, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at a rehabilitation facility.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at New Bethel Complete in Christ Baptist Church. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Baker Funeral Home Chapel.

Lillie Mae Woodard was born April 4, 1909, in Waskom, to Albert and Eliza Hawkins. When she was a child, the family moved to Fort Worth. She joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she met and married R.D. Woodard. To this union, two children, Robert and Shirlye, were born.

Lillie Mae Woodard later became a member of New Bethel CIC Baptist Church, where for many years she served as church secretary, Sunday school teacher and mission worker.

Survivors: Daughter, Shirlye Brazzell; brother, James Arthur Hawkins; sister, Roberta Morgan; and grandchildren, Guy and Linda Green and Michael Woodard.
