Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Evans always seemed to have a kind word, smile, lots of patience, and a piece of cake for all of the neighborhood children who were over at her house visiting her kids. I recently came across a photo of her son, Steve, with Martha Page and I on our first day of school decades ago. As we were having our picture taken, I looked back down 13th Avenue and saw that Mrs. Evans had joined my mom in front of my family's home. I wonder what the two moms were saying to each other all those years...

In your sorrow, I hope you are able to fill the void of your loss with memories of the happy times with your mother. I will always remember your house as a happy and fun place filled with kids and the joyful exuberance of youth. The Evans household was a second home for me, and Mrs. Evans was always welcoming and generous (often with delicious cake). Time has flown by, and I'm now older than our parents were when I first met Steve, but my memories of Mrs. Evans will always be bright and fond.

Dear Roberta, Larry, Mark, Steve and Mike and your families,
I'm thinking of you in your sorrow. Memories of the ones we've loved still cast their gentle glow to grace our days and light our paths wherever we may go. There is so little one can do, so little one can say to bring you consolation in your loss. But, may it help you and bring you comfort to know that others truly care and share your grief with you.
I've missed your Mother -- She was such a special person....

In this time of sadness I Hope you don't feel alone. I hope you feel the love and support of a whole circle of friends that Lilly and Hy had here at the Highlands. We love each of you and appreciate all the many ways your parents enhanced our lives. Gone but never forgotten. Thank you Roberta,Larry, Mark, Steve and Mike for your friendship over the years. Fondly, Sue Anderson
