Not sure what to say?

Even after these many years have passed, memories of Lilly still remain. I know I'm very fortunate to have known Lilly and collected so many wonderful moments to recall today.

Loved here and she was such a jokester at Camp Manitou. She used to take my shoes and throw them up on one of buildings, laugh and walk away.

You are so missed.

Miss you a lot. You were the funny bone of camp.

Dear Miss Janet....you never left...you are in my heart and on my mind. I have all of your wonderful letters and cherish each moment when I read them again and again. You are spoken about often within the Manitou clan, we especially speak of your mischief ways and practical jokes...always loved your orange socks and the red ones too. You meant so much to so many and inspired us all to enjoy life and all it had to offer. You are greatly missed.

I was fortunate to spend three days with Janet the September before she passed away. We were friends of 45 years at Camp Manitou. Some people you meet in your lives stay in your memories forever and some, like Janet, leave footprints on your heart. I will miss her wit, orange socks and huge heart. Love you Janet.

When I think of Janet, I think of laughing until our sides hurt. Our excursions into town to buy fabric in the camp station wagon with the horn blowing at every right turn in the road and driver in front of us not knowing what to think. Our breaks in NY City eating and shopping until we dropped and spending all our money from camp going to plays. Driving through Spain and Morocco practicing our fractured Spanish yet having the time of our lives and coming back to camp do the Music Man....

I'm very sorry I havn't seen her since the summer of 2000. Aunt Janet was always very supportive of me in my artistic endeavors. Then later on when I really got into playing the drums, I don't think she new quite what to get me for Christmass, so she just got socks for me. I always looked forward to those socks from dear aunt janet at Christmass. She was the one that passed out all the presents on christmass eve at Farfar & Farmor's. Aunt janet was also so upbeat all the time, if she ever had...

Dear Lignell Family-

I can only say that there are those people in your life who come and go, and then there are those that stay forever in your heart. I count "Miss Janet" as one of those people...who stay in your heart. I will always remember her wonderful sense of humor, her gentle (and hillarious at times) way of mentoring, and her voice rising above the dining hall at Camp Manitou in song! She gave of herself abundantly!I am so happy to have had the opportunity to visit with...
