I greatly value having had Lincoln Faller as one of my professors at UM. He was kind and enthusiastic on behalf of his students' attempts to deal with 18th century lit. My condolences to the family and best wishes to Professor Faller in the great beyond: his energy lives on.

I was saddened to learn of Lincoln´s death and offer the deepest condolences to Kathleen and other members of the family. Not only did Lincoln and Kathleen throw great parties after they left Ann Arbor, I was fortunate to attend some of the fabulous ones they hosted here in the Midwest. Lincoln was a gracious host and I will always remember his smile. May his movement to his next great adventure be a joyous one.

I admit that I always thought of Lincoln as among the rarest birds in the English Department aviary during our overlap of 38 years at U-M. We all see people differently, especially as time passes, and my recollection at present is of a man with a roly-poly bear-like physique, an owlish look on his bespectacled face, and a beard suggestive of an amiable lumberjack. Lincoln was one of my very favorite professors when I was at U of M. He was witty, kind and very passionate about what he was teaching. RIP to a remarkable man.
