Linda Webb Gober Bailey, of Hoover, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 31, 2018, at the age of 72, after a lengthy battle with vascular disease. Born on December 21, 1945, to parents James "Jay" and Mary Katherine "Kat" Gober, Linda grew up in Fairfield, Alabama, where she was an active member of Fairfield First Methodist Church. After graduating from Fairfield High School in 1964, Linda pursued her passion for cosmetology and graduated from Trophy Beauty School, and commenced her career in the beauty industry at Kessler's. She married Billy "Bill" James Bailey in 1966 and gave birth to the love of her life, Andrea Lyn, in 1968. After divorcing in the early 1980's, Linda started the second and best chapter of her life when she began working as a sales representative for Gulf States Beauty Supply Company. Calling on salons and sharing her expertise and love for the industry, Linda was a top salesperson and was frequently recognized not just by her company, but also nationally by leading manufacturers, such as Wella, L'Oreal, and Rusk. Her successful career allowed Linda to travel broadly with favorite trips to London, Paris and Vienna. While she loved her work and her clients, nothing could surpass her love for her family and her friends. A fabulous cook, Linda adored celebrating holidays with her parents, daughter and extended family and later with her son-in-law. She had an amazing zest for life, was always the life of any party, and was so very proud of her daughter. But most importantly, Linda had a deep and abiding faith that provided her great comfort, especially in the last few years of her life. Linda was an active member of Bluff Park United Methodist Church where she participated in the food pantry ministry and Compassion Circle. Linda will always be missed but her family and friends are comforted that she is now with her Father in heaven. Linda is survived by her daughter, Andrea Bailey Powers; her son-in-law, Hayden Powers; her sister-in-law, Margaret Bailey Littlefield (Pete); along with numerous cousins and beloved friends. The family wishes to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Talladega Rehab Select and Affinity Hospice for their compassionate care these past few months. Services will be held at Bluff Park United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 6, 2018, with Reverend Mike Holly officiating. Visitation at the church will be from 10-11 am with services at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Bluff Park United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.

Not sure what to say?

I have so many fond memories of Linda when we were at F.H.S. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and an infectious laugh! Many week-ends, we'd go bowling, and spend the night at Linda's house. I last saw her at Mickey Hoglund Watts' funeral, several years ago. I send hugs and prayers to the family.
R.I.P, Linda.

Linda was a sweet and caring friend in high school. She was always smiling -- happy on the inside due to her strong faith and happy on the outside due to a great circle of friends.

I remember way back when...Billy lived next door to us in Fairfield and married Linda. I was so young and remember thinking how pretty she was! So sorry to hear of her passing. It sounds like she lived a fulfilled life. Losing a loved one is never easy. So sorry for your lost.

When someone we love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. Therefore, cherish the times spent with loved ones-draw strength from the love of family and friends-and may God's word and his loyal love comfort you and help you through this difficult time. Psalms 119:50,76

The deepest sympathy for the family.Comfort,at Mark 5:38-42.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Take comfort in knowing that you will see her again in Heaven. Another angel has made it safely home.

Mrs. Linda will truly be missed. May God's loving kindness comfort the entire Bailey family. My prayers are with y'all. Lamentations 3:55-57

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through

I remember Linda fondly. I met her through my sister in law. Prayers for her daughter, son in law, and the rest of her family and friends.
