Obituary

ATASCADERO, Calif. (AP) - Syndicated columnist and astrologer Linda C. Black, who wrote daily horoscopes for Tribune Media Services and whose forecasts were read in newspapers across the world, has died. She was 65.

Black's daughter, Nancy, said her mother died Thursday of ovarian cancer at a hospital in Atascadero.

Linda Black wrote before her death that she was "fascinated by the challenge of reading what (I'm convinced) God has written for us in the placement of the planets."

She studied and practiced astrology for more than 40 years, following a childhood interest. She began writing horoscopes for TMS in 1992.

Black collaborated with her daughter, Nancy, in the last few months of her life. Nancy Black will continue writing the daily column for TMS, www.astrologers-online.com and other Web sites.
