Bradley's Funeral Home & Crematory - Marion Obituary

MARION, VA

Linda Lou Harrison Briggs went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Linda was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother & friend. Of all these roles, her most favorite was being a grandma. Linda was preceded in by her mother & father, Gaines and Virginia Harrison; the love of her life, Bill Briggs, to whom she married in 1971 and built a wonderful life with.

Linda could be found doing a word search puzzle, eating her snacks, & watching her iPad & phone & enjoying her time with family. She also spent time watching for hummingbirds & laughing at the cats. She asked for puzzles for Christmas and spent time working on them on the dining room table. She worked as a housekeeper for years at Smyth County Community Hospital until she retired to focus on being the best grandma ever.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Crystal Tilson & husband James; son, Michael Briggs; grandchildren, Caitlyn and Ean Tilson; sister Diane Harrison and her daughter Charity; her adopted daughter & grandson Nicole and Jonah Ellis; brother Danny Harrison & wife Joann; sisters-in-law Florence Collins, Dot Briggs, and Myrtle Briggs; brother-in-law Jackie Briggs & wife Joann; and multiple other loving family members that were loved by her.

In honor of Linda and her family’s wishes, private services will be held at Round Hill Cemetery in Marion, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help the family with final expenses. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley’s Funeral Home of Marion is serving the Briggs Family.

Not sure what to say?

Crystal and family, I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was a good woman. We always talked some whenever I came to pick up stuff from you. May the Lord keep you in His arms and ease the pain of your grief.

Crystal I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.

We are so sorry to hear about Aunt Linda. Regretfully, we have not seen you all in a long time, but every time we saw Linda, we could count on her to greet us with a smile and a twinkle in her eye. She would send us a message from time to time to check up on us, and we deeply appreciated her kindness. We will be praying for all of you - for comfort and strength.
