Dr. Linda Jean Dunlap Cadena was born August 11, 1961 and called to her heavenly father on August 8, 2012. She was unlike anyone else and could instantly fill any empty space in our lives with her comforting way and her grace. We felt blessed in her presence. Having known that she was the heart of her husband's world and her children's lives. Linda naturally gave so much, that gratitude for her generosity was impossible to express. Linda's family received her love, peaceful spirit and plentitude of life just by being around her and became accustomed to that way of life. Linda taught us which road to follow and to keep our eyes on the Lord, always understanding the surety and reward of her faith in Jesus. It's beautiful to see that much of the excellence that we see in ourselves and one another is a part of her that she left within in us. Our hope is that for those that did not get to know her, that this gives you a glimpse as to how special our Linda was. Linda always gave of herself...straight from the heart...just because she loved to! Linda we thank you for giving of yourself and for loving us unconditionally. You leave us with a legacy of great examples on how to be a wonderful wife and mother. You never judged anyone harshly but rather you were forgiving and loved anyone just as they were. We are especially thankful for your patience, comforting way and compassion for your husband Rolando and your seven beautiful children. She wasn't an angel, she is the daughter of the Most High. She didn't leave us, she is expectant for our reunion. She wasn't taken from us, rather called ahead of us to return home. She prayed and prayed for the well being of her kids and for me, now she is glorified, well and at rest. Thank you for the love you gave. "Gracias por el amor que das." She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie Dunlap. Linda was survived by her husband Dr. Rolando Cadena and her seven children, Clair, Abram, Isaac, Ryan, Matthias, Lucas and Eliana. She was also survived by her mother Betty Dunlap and sisters Sarana Placker (husband Roy), Becca McCarty (husband Stanley), Karen Bishop (husband Daren), Camille Hernandez (husband Patrick), as well as her brother Charles Dunlap and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August the 14 at Mesilla Park Community Church with Pastor Dennis Diaz at 7 pm.

Not sure what to say?

I will never forget you. You were a sweet dear friend all through our school years. My prayers continually go out to the family of Linda.

My heart boke the day I heard of your loss. She came into my life like an angel, into the darkness. When I thought all hope was gone, she took my hand and prayed with me. She believed in me when it felt the world would tear me apart. She loved me when it felt no one would ever. With her heavenly blue eyes she smiled for me, when I couldn't find my smile. In this life I truly met an angel. She will always be my Cadena Angel. I love you Linda. Your sister forever.

I have so many fond memories of you. You were one of few good friends that I had. A friend that I could trust and pray with. I loved our prayer groups before school, cruising around town with a car full of bored teenagers looking for something to do, our talks, sharing our faith with each other, your laughter, just so many memories I will cherish til we meet again in Heaven. You will be missed, loved and remembered always by those of us who knew you and loved you.

Ronnie, Rick and I just found out and we are so sorry for your loss. Linda was a wonderful, kind person and I know she is in god's hands. God Bless you and your family. The Boy Family
