MONTEZUMA- Linda Clapp, 72, of Montezuma, Indiana died at 11:31 pm Thursday, November 25, 2010 in the emergency room of Union Hospital at Clinton. She retired after 23 years of service as secretary for the Dean of Instruction of Ivy Tec State College. She was born March 2, 1938 in Paris, Illinois to the late Harland James Johns and Maxine Thomas Johns. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Raymond Clapp whom she married January 5, 1958 in Paris, Illinois. Also surviving, one son, Bradley (Joanna) Clapp of Montezuma; one daughter, Tamara Clapp Kraft of Montezuma; two brothers, James Johns of Las Vegas, Nevada and Robert Johns of Paris, Illinois; six grandchildren, Jason, Nathan, Kaitlyn and Camryn Clapp, Kylee Gregg and Karlee Kraft; one great-grandson, Ryder Gregg; She was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Jay Clapp on July 4, 1999. She was a 1956 graduate of Paris High School and Ivy Tech State College. She was a member of Linebarger Chapel United Methodist Church, Quilting Club of Paris, Illinois and active with the 1956ers of Paris High School. She was a dancer for more than 60 years spending 30 years dancing with Wanda's World of Dance in Terre Haute. Services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, November 30, in Gooch Funeral Home at 112 W. Howard St. in Rockville, with Pastor Leon Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Montezuma. Visitation is from 4-8 pm on Monday at Gooch Funeral Home.
