Linda Lindsay Collette was born December 17, 1932 in Honey Grove, Texas where she grew up. Linda graduated from Honey Grove High School with perfect attendance from 1st grade through 12th grade, proud of having never missed a day of school. After graduation, she moved to Dallas to attend business school. She met Patrick Collette, a soldier in the Army, while in Dallas. They were married in 1951. Linda and Patrick traveled all over the US and Germany with the Army, moving every 2 or 3 years and raising a family of 4 children. The family settled in Smyrna, TN in 1970. Linda worked for Capitol Airways for 15 years, and the Town of Smyrna for 24 years before retiring at 81 years of age.
Linda is preceded in death by husband Patrick W. Collette, parents Alonzo Lindsay and Allie Lindsay, and sister Annell Lindsay Roberts. Linda is survived by loving family including her four children, Donna Collette Robinson (Steve) of Smyrna, TN, Carol Collette Rowe (Chip) of Mt. Juliet, TN, John Collette (Cindy) of Franklin, TN, and Paul Collette (Melissa) of Smyrna TN.; five grandchildren, Jason Snider, Brian Rowe, Chris Rowe, Brandon Robinson, and Paula Collette, five great grandchildren, Jaelin Snider, Watson Snider, Ayden Rowe, Alivia Rowe and Alyssa Rowe. She was a loving mother and grandmother, always proud of her family which she loved very much.
Linda attended Smyrna Presbyterian Church.
Pallbearers are John Collette, Paul Collette, Jason Snider, Brian Rowe, Chris Rowe, and Brandon Robinson.
A special thank you to her care giver and friend Lori McArthur, and to all from Kindred hospice care.
She will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Those who knew Linda admired her for her sense of humor and kindness and caring to all she met.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or The American Heart Association.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will take place in Nashville National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Shawn Thomas Smith officiating.
