Linda L. Cook Whitesboro Linda L. Cook, 66, of Whitesboro, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 7, 2011, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. She was born on October 20, 1944 in Utica, a daughter of the late Leopold and Jane (Burr) Major. On May 4, 1962 in Norfolk, VA she married Warren Cook, a blessed union of over 48 years. Mrs. Cook was employed with Marcy Psychiatric Hospital and Utica Psychiatric Hospital, Pinefield Center retiring in 1999 after 20 years of service. She was a member of the CSEA. She loved all kinds of animals; she raised and showed Bearded Collies. Linda was a very outgoing person who loved reading, gardening, cross stitching and going to garage sales, but most of all it was taking care of her family that brought her much joy. She is survived by her husband Warren of Whitesboro, her daughters, Yvonne Cook Dunbar and her special friend Gary Mashaw of Utica, and Robin Cook of Whitesboro. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jeanette Dunbar and Gary Dunbar Jr., her sisters, Sheila Dziok and her husband John of Floyd, Debra Genovese of Camden and Sylvia Wilson of Utica, she leaves two sister's –in-law, Donna Miller of Colorado and Cynthia Wilcox and her husband Lynn of Adams, NY, also several nieces and nephews, and last but not least her favorite canine companion "Billy". She was predeceased by a sister Arlene Ray and an Uncle William Burr. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center emergency room especially Dr. Patel for all of their kindness and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home Forty Main St. Whitesboro with the Rev. Laurie Pauley officiating. Interment will be in the spring in Grandview Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
