Linda Merle Wingate DeVane, age 68, of Lemon Grove, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019.  She was born January 6, 1951 in Wauchula, FL to James Merl and Waynoka (Hester) Wingate.  Linda was a Homemaker, member of the Corinth Primitive Baptist Church, and has been a lifelong resident of Lemon Grove in Hardee County, Florida.  Survivors include her Daughter – Melissa Robinson (Johnny) of Freeport, FL; Sons – Morgan DeVane (Michele) of Sebring, FL; Michael DeVane (Betsy) of Land O Lakes, FL; 5 Grandchildren – Micaela, Morgan, Dalton, Nikolas, and Mia.  She is preceded in death by her Husband – Park Thomas DeVane.  Funeral services will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with family receiving friends beginning at 10:00 AM.  She will be laid to rest in Hart Cemetery.

Linda Merle, you were like a big sister to Debbie and I... We would giggle at the funniest things...we so loved coming to visit Uncle Merl, Aunt Wanoka and you and Marvin. I feel so heartbroken in finding out that my childhood best friend has passed from this world into heaven. We had lost communication with each other. Our hearts are heavy at the loss of our sister Linda. Being her pastor and pastor's wife for 22 years we grew to be very close friends and members of the church, rejoicing in our being together and witnessing in the Gospel of Almighty God. We will sorely miss her and our good times together. We loved her as one of our own natural family and the family of God. God's Will be done and no one can stay His Hand as He deemed it time to call her spirit home to be with Him. God does all things...
